Handling scrap with TRUNINGER LST magnets (Light Scrap Torus, single coil)
Robust, effective and reliable
The latest generation of TRUNINGER scrap magnets has been designed specifically for low density scrap.
LST magnets (Light Scrap Torus) combine numerous advantages for rugged applications in steel mills and scrap yards.
- The ring-shaped (torus) magnet housings are made out of welded steel making the magnet abrasion and impact resistant. This in contrast to the common bell-shaped cast-iron housings available on the market.
- The magnetic conductivity of steel is around 30% better than that of cast-iron. All this makes the magnets extremely durable and efficient both in terms of lifting capacity (kg lifting capacity/kg dead weight) as well as power consumption (kg lifting capacity/kW power consumption).
- High-quality plug connector, specially designed for lifting magnets
- High strength 4-leg chain suspension
- High magnetic conductivity
Optimised pole geometry
High performance coil system - Abrasion- and shock-proof, welded steel housing
A base plate made of hardened steel protects the coils and prevents any foreign bodies from entering the coil cavity. This guarantees greatest ruggedness for tough conditions.
Non-magnetic fins welded onto the sides of the magnet housing reduce the magnet’s lateral forces.
- Low side attraction due to nonmagnetic fins
- Shock-absorbing isolation of the coil
- Maximal coil protection provided by hardened steel base plate
The coils are cast in impact-absorbent insulating compound having excellent moisture-repellent and heat conducting properties.
